Android Authority reported that evidence in a recent Google Maps beta points to planned support for Gemini’s Personal Intelligence feature, which is designed to draw on information from connected Google services to make responses more tailored to a user. The outlet said it found the references while examining Google Maps beta version 26.30.00.950492155, including text that describes Personal Intelligence as enhancing the Maps experience.

According to Android Authority, the code suggests Maps could use connected Google “content apps” and Search services to surface information such as reservations, flights and other relevant details. The report names Google Workspace, including Gmail, Drive and Calendar, as well as Google Photos among the services tied to the broader Personal Intelligence system. Android Authority also said it manually enabled two apparent new areas in the Maps account switcher, labeled “Connected Content apps” and “Personalization,” though both were not working and only showed loading screens.

The article notes that Google has not publicly detailed how this Maps integration would operate. Android Authority suggested the most likely place for it would be Ask Maps, Google’s Gemini-powered Maps feature for questions about places and destinations, but that remains an interpretation based on the discovered code rather than a confirmed rollout plan.

The potential change matters because it would move Google Maps further from a navigation and local search tool toward a more personalized travel and planning assistant. However, the findings come from an APK teardown of work-in-progress code, so the feature could change, be delayed or never reach the public app.
