The group said the performances were meant to build excitement and encourage public participation ahead of the coronation. Residents quoted in the article said the moment feels significant because it marks the arrival of a new king after a period of mourning for the late Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.

The coronation is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, beginning with a service at St John’s Cathedral in Fort Portal before the main event at Karuziika Palace. President Yoweri Museveni is expected to attend as chief guest.
