Everton sell Scotland's Patterson to Torino

What the report says
Everton have sold Scotland right-back Nathan Patterson to Torino for an undisclosed fee, according to BBC Sport Football. Patterson, 24, moved to Everton from Rangers in January 2022 on a five-and-a-half-year deal after a transfer reported at the time to be worth £12m. He was unable to secure a regular starting role at Goodison Park, though he made 68 appearances for the club, with 29 of those coming as a substitute.
BBC Sport Football reported that Patterson’s time at Everton was affected by injuries. His opportunities were limited last season, when he featured eight times, and his only appearance this season came as a second-half substitute in last week’s 4-0 League Cup win away to Preston North End. He had been hoping to establish himself under fellow Scot David Moyes.
The move sends Patterson to Serie A side Torino, where he joins Scotland team-mate Che Adams. Patterson has also played 29 times for Scotland, including appearances at the World Cup, and his transfer adds to the summer movement of British players into Italy. More broadly, the deal reflects how clubs continue to reshape squads late in the transfer window, while Everton lose a defender they had originally signed as a long-term prospect.
