Everton agree deal to re-sign Grealish on loan from Man City

Everton have reached an agreement to bring Jack Grealish back to the club on a season-long loan from Manchester City, according to BBC Sport Football. The 30-year-old England winger is due to have a medical, with the move expected to be completed before Tuesday’s 23:00 BST transfer deadline.

BBC Sport said Grealish spent a substantial part of last season at Everton in a similar temporary spell, making 20 appearances, scoring twice and adding six assists before a foot injury ended his campaign in January. He had also been linked with other clubs, including Aston Villa, but Everton was his preferred destination. Everton chief executive Angus Kinnear said on BBC Radio Merseyside that the club had stayed in contact with him.

The transfer is part of a busy deadline-day push for Everton, who are looking to strengthen their attack. BBC Sport reported that winger Iliman Ndiaye is expected to complete a £65m move to Manchester City, while the Merseyside club are also close to signing Monaco and United States forward Folarin Balogun for about £40m. A proposed return for Tottenham striker Richarlison has stalled over personal terms.

Grealish joined City from Aston Villa for £100m in 2021 and has already made two appearances for the club this season. Everton are next scheduled to face Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
