TechCrunch reported that the London-based European Technology Network, a livestreamed technology show founded by Luke Knight and Ronan Chambers, has raised a $1.6 million seed round and is expanding its format. Investors named by TechCrunch include Powerhouse Capital, Axel Springer SE, a co-founder of LADbible, and angel investors from OpenAI and DeepMind.

ETN launched last October as a twice-weekly livestream focused on technology trends and startup news, broadcasting on X and YouTube. TechCrunch said the show has drawn more than 5 million views and will move to a five-day-a-week schedule starting July 27. The expansion includes a larger studio in London’s King’s Cross area, a bigger team, a newsletter, and more guest programming. Planned or recent guests cited in the report include Sequoia partner George Robson, former U.K. prime minister Rishi Sunak, Synthesia’s founder, Legora’s CFO, Granola’s founder, and U.K. AI minister Kanishka Narayan.

The report frames ETN as Europe’s version of TBPN, the U.S. tech livestream that became a prominent stop for founders and investors. Chambers told TechCrunch the show was responding to the speed of Europe’s startup scene and the volume of guest demand, with about 70 pitches per week. TechCrunch also cited Dealroom data showing London startups have raised $14.7 billion this year.

ETN currently relies on advertising, with sponsors including Polymarket, Base and ElevenLabs. The development matters because it highlights growing competition to shape tech media and startup visibility in Europe, especially around AI and venture capital.
