The ambassador also said the EU is prepared to support Ethiopia as it prepares to host COP32 next year, describing the conference as an opportunity for international engagement on climate issues. She pointed to Addis Ababa’s role as the African Union headquarters and stressed the importance of deeper continental economic integration through the African Continental Free Trade Area. In broader context, the EU’s Global Gateway strategy is often used to promote investment and infrastructure partnerships in Africa, and the report places Ethiopia’s reforms within that wider framework.
