ERAM set for regional quality honours, Vice President Alupo to grace awards ceremony

What the report says
Ugandan animal-health company ERAM Uganda Limited is set to receive regional recognition at the 6th East Africa Brand Quality Awards, scheduled for October 16, 2026, according to The Independent Uganda. The ceremony is expected to take place at Hotel Africana in Kampala, with Vice President Jessica Alupo listed as the guest of honour.
The publisher reported that ERAM will be named Platinum Winner for Best Veterinary Company in East Africa. The award is described as a Quality Seal of Excellence for businesses judged on factors such as product quality, customer care, innovation, sustainability and operational performance. ERAM was nominated by the public before being reviewed by an expert panel.
Founded in 1995 by veterinary professionals Edward Muhigirwa and Dr Alice Hope Banga, ERAM has grown from a small Kampala business into a broader animal-health company with headquarters on Hoima Road in Bakuli and a manufacturing plant in Lugazi. Its products include veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines, equipment and supplements. The company marked its 30th anniversary in 2025, when it also unveiled a new headquarters.
The recognition matters because it highlights the role of local firms in supporting Uganda’s livestock sector, improving access to veterinary inputs and building manufacturing capacity for regional markets. In the report, ERAM said the award would affirm Ugandan businesses that are trying to compete on quality beyond the domestic market.
