Emeka’s YouTube channel hacked, videos deleted

What the report says
Ugandan media personality, comedian and events emcee Collins Bareija, known as Emeka, is trying to regain control of his YouTube channel after hackers reportedly accessed his Gmail account and took over the platform, according to Sqoop Uganda. The outlet said the attackers deleted videos from his channel, The Romantic Mukiga, which hosts his relationship podcast Tie the Knot.
Emeka said the incident happened on Thursday and later posted on X that someone had taken control of both his email and YouTube account before deleting content. He also indicated that he and his team were working to secure the account and stop further damage. Sqoop Uganda reported that the channel’s existing videos were placed at risk during the breach.
The channel has been used to publish conversations with couples about relationships, challenges and personal experiences, giving Emeka a visible digital presence beyond his work in radio, events and comedy. The report noted that he had been due to premiere another podcast episode on August 20, though it was not clear whether that release would still go ahead.
The episode underscores how creators can be vulnerable when access to major accounts is lost, especially when a single login is tied to both email and video platforms.
