East Fife sack Campbell as Lennon steps in at Dumbarton

What the report says
East Fife have sacked manager Dick Campbell after a poor run in League One and an early exit from the KDM Evolution Trophy. The club said results had not improved after a stretch of eight league matches without a win, leaving them seventh in the table after one victory in 10 games. Tuesday’s defeat away to Cumbernauld Colts also ended their Challenge Cup involvement, and the club described that result as a financial setback after heavy investment in the squad over the past two seasons.
Campbell, 72, arrived at New Bayview in February 2024 and had previously managed several Scottish clubs, including Arbroath, Forfar Athletic, Dunfermline Athletic, Brechin City, Partick Thistle and Ross County. He had guided East Fife to promotion through the 2025 play-offs, the latest of multiple promotions in his long managerial career. His brother Ian, along with coaches Stuart Malcolm and John Young, have also left the club.
At Dumbarton, Frank McKeown has departed and Danny Lennon has been appointed on an interim basis. Dumbarton are sixth in League Two and also exited the KDM Evolution Trophy after a 4-0 loss to Clydebank. Lennon joined Dumbarton as director of football in September, and BBC Sport notes he is stepping in temporarily while the club reshapes its management setup.
