DTB Uganda, Universal-Multipurpose Enterprise partner to boost housing finance

Diamond Trust Bank Uganda (DTB) and Universal Multipurpose Enterprises Limited have entered into a memorandum of understanding aimed at widening access to mortgage and property financing for Ugandans. The agreement was announced on August 6 at DTB’s head office in Kampala, according to The Independent Uganda, with the two companies saying they want to make home ownership and real estate investment more attainable.

The bank said the partnership is designed to offer more structured lending options and a smoother path for customers seeking homes, while supporting activity in Uganda’s property sector. DTB Managing Director Godfrey Sebaana said the collaboration reflects the bank’s focus on practical financial solutions and comes at a time when Uganda continues to face a large housing gap.
