What the report says

Dokolo Resident District Commissioner Babra Akech has pledged tight security for candidates, teachers and parents ahead of the 2026 Primary Leaving Examinations in Dokolo District. According to Dokolo Post, she made the remarks on Saturday, October 24, 2026, while serving as chief guest at dedication prayers for 37 Primary Seven candidates at Prime Nursery and Primary School in Dokolo.

Akech said the Uganda Police Force and other security agencies are on alert to prevent any disruption before, during and after the exams. She also raised concern about some parents in government-aided schools who, in her view, are reluctant to meet school-related financial responsibilities. Her comments came amid debate over school charges in government schools and the need to support learners more consistently.

The event also featured messages from church and school leaders. Rev. Ven. Sadrack Ogwang urged parents to plan family sizes responsibly and prioritize education, while school representatives encouraged enrollment and support for private institutions. The district inspector of schools, Tonny Lameck Erecu, said Dokolo has registered 3,582 PLE candidates and urged families to begin preparing for the move to secondary school.

The report also noted broader education developments at Prime Nursery and Primary School, including infrastructure upgrades and bursaries announced for 2027 entrants. Separately, UNEB timelines cited in the article show that PLE candidates are expected to receive a briefing on October 30, with written exams set for November 3 and 4, 2026.
