BBC World News reports that US television presenter Savannah Guthrie has released another video appeal on social media seeking information from the people believed to have abducted her mother, Nancy Guthrie. In the video posted Monday, Guthrie asked the kidnappers to disclose where her mother can be found and said her family remains in anguish months after the disappearance.

According to the BBC, investigators believe 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was taken against her will from her home near Tucson, Arizona, after she was last seen on 31 January. Authorities have not announced a motive or identified any arrested suspect. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the case remains active, but it has not publicly detailed the contents of apparent ransom notes.

The BBC, citing US media and its partner CBS News, reported that two ransom notes sent to news organizations and addressed to the family were considered credible. One allegedly sought millions in Bitcoin, while another claimed Nancy Guthrie had died. CBS and other outlets also reported that law enforcement initially asked media organizations not to publish details while the investigation continued.

The case has drawn wider attention because Guthrie is a prominent US broadcaster and because authorities have described a troubling sequence around the disappearance. Nancy Guthrie reportedly needed daily medication, missed plans the next morning to join a friend for a virtual church service, and earlier images released by authorities showed a masked, armed suspect covering the home’s front door camera before she vanished.
