Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month prison sentence after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Fox said he began serving the term at Fort Dix in October.

According to Fox’s account of other outlets’ reporting, ABC News said the confrontation began after another inmate made a comment to Combs, while TMZ reported that the fight was brief, stopped quickly by staff and that Combs “held his own,” citing sources. Fox noted it was not clear whether the other inmate also faced solitary confinement or other discipline.

Fox reported that Combs was moved to the low-security Fort Dix facility after sentencing because of its drug rehabilitation program and its relative proximity to family. The article also referenced his high-profile trial, including testimony from former girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, who alleged abuse and coerced sexual encounters during their relationship.
