Diamond Platnumz set for Kampala meet-and-greet dinner

What the report says

Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz is scheduled to attend a private meet-and-greet dinner in Kampala on October 29, hosted at Kampala Marriott Hotel. According to Sqoop Uganda, the event is being organized ahead of his appearance as the main act at Comedy Store Uganda’s 10th anniversary concert the following day.

The dinner is expected to begin with guests arriving at 8 p.m., followed by dinner at 9 p.m. The lineup mentioned by the organiser includes Rwandan artist The Ben, Ugandan DJ and media personality Sheilah Gashumba, and guitarist Myko Ouma. Sqoop Uganda reported that table reservations start at Shs5 million and are being managed through the event organisers.

The second event is the larger Comedy Store UG at 10 Retro Tour concert, set for October 30 at Lugogo Cricket Oval. It is being staged by comedian Alex Muhangi to mark 10 years of Comedy Store Uganda and will feature Diamond Platnumz alongside other performers named on the programme, including The Ben, Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, and several Ugandan artists.

The article presents the Kampala visit as offering fans two different ways to engage with the star: a smaller dinner setting and a major concert audience. More broadly, such dual-format events are common in entertainment promotions, where premium hospitality experiences are paired with ticketed public shows.
