DFCU Deepens Dialogue with Ndeeba Entrepreneurs Through Kyusa Level SME Dine-Out

dfcu Bank held a Kyusa Level SME Customer Dine-Out at its Ndeeba branch to deepen engagement with local entrepreneurs and discuss issues affecting small businesses. According to Nile Post, the session brought together business owners and senior bank leaders to talk about financing, cash-flow management, risk protection and sustainable growth.

The bank said the conversations were meant to go beyond access to credit and focus on day-to-day decisions that shape whether a business can stay resilient and expand. Topics included liquidity pressure, separating personal and business finances, protecting assets and finding financing that matches the pace of operations. The report said these concerns reflect broader challenges facing Uganda’s small-business sector, including rising costs, tighter cash cycles, shifting customer behavior and stronger competition.

Senior dfcu officials used the event to emphasize disciplined financial planning and the importance of business continuity. The bank’s Head of Enterprise Banking, William Kayongo, stressed cash-flow control and asset protection, while Head of Bancassurance Arthur Kintu said risk cover should be part of core planning. Other executives said direct conversations help the bank understand customer needs at different stages of growth and tailor products and support accordingly.

The event fits into dfcu’s wider SME support efforts and highlights the role banks can play as partners to entrepreneurs, not only as lenders. More broadly, such engagements reflect a common trend in Uganda’s banking sector, where financial institutions are increasingly linking credit with advisory services and business education.
