Moller also said he was surprised the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal was not on the committee’s agenda, arguing that the body responsible for legal issues should have examined it. He renewed his call for Infantino to step down, saying the meeting reinforced his view that FIFA cannot restore credibility under its current leadership. Al Jazeera said it contacted FIFA for comment.

The dispute comes amid wider backlash over Infantino’s proposal and the handling of the fallout. FIFA has already apologised to member associations for mistakes linked to the plan, while its leadership has reaffirmed support for the president after a crisis meeting in Morocco. Several European associations, including Denmark, France and Austria, have moved away from backing his re-election.

Infantino is still expected to have enough support to win the March 18, 2027 presidential vote in Rabat, according to Reuters sources. That has shifted attention toward efforts to limit his influence and pressure FIFA for more transparency, as member associations continue debating the organisation’s direction.
