Crystal Palace in talks to re-sign Guessand on loan

What the report says
Crystal Palace are in discussions to bring back Ivory Coast forward Evann Guessand on a season-long loan from Aston Villa, according to BBC Sport Football. The move would see the 25-year-old return to Selhurst Park after spending the second half of last season with Palace.
Guessand joined Villa only last August in a £26m transfer, but his first season at the club was mixed. BBC Sport says he scored two goals in 21 appearances in all competitions, before being loaned to Palace in January. While at Palace, he scored his first Premier League goal in a 1-0 win over Wolves and also featured as a substitute in the Conference League final victory over Rayo Vallecano.
The BBC adds that Guessand was part of Villa’s wider success last season, having also earned a Europa League winner’s medal after appearing for the club earlier in the campaign. He returned to Villa for pre-season after Palace did not take up an earlier option to sign him permanently.
If completed, the proposed loan would give Palace another experienced attacking option as they prepare for the new season, while Villa would again loan out a player who has had limited impact since arriving from France last year. The BBC’s report does not say whether the deal is close to being finalized.
