Crime thriller Hit Point premieres on M-Net

What the report says
DStv is introducing the British six-part crime thriller *Hit Point* to South African viewers on M-Net, with the first episode scheduled for Monday, October 26, at 21:00 EAT. According to The Observer, the series will run weekly through November 30 on M-Net channel 102.
The show was written by Howard Overman, whose previous credits include *Misfits*, *War of the Worlds* and *Paris Has Fallen*. The series blends a heist plot with police drama, dark comedy and romance. It centres on detectives Leo and Bella, played by Nick Blood and Saffron Hocking, whose investigation starts after masked robbers intercept a cash-filled Range Rover. The story then pivots when Leo is revealed to be one of the thieves, setting up a conflict in which he must hide his role while working alongside the woman he is falling for.
The article says the robbery draws in a French crime boss, Pascal Dubois, played by William Abadie, as well as other characters involved in the heist and police corruption. The cast also includes Peter Serafinowicz, Moe Bar-El, Nadia Parkes, Ossian Perret, Joshua Sher and Brendan Coyle. Director David Caffrey reportedly filmed much of the series on location around London, including Edgware Road and Paddington, using a smaller crew to create a more immediate sense of place.
The series was developed and produced by Urban Myth Films, co-financed by CANAL+, and distributed internationally by STUDIOCANAL. The report also notes that the production includes South African actor Atandwa Kani in the broader network of Overman’s projects.
