Coventry sign defender Pinnock from Brentford

Coventry City have completed the signing of Jamaica centre-back Ethan Pinnock from Brentford for an undisclosed fee, with BBC Sport reporting the move is worth about £6m. The 33-year-old has agreed a switch to the Championship club after spending six years with Brentford, where he arrived from Barnsley in 2019.

Pinnock made 216 appearances for the Bees and scored 12 goals. According to BBC Sport, he played an important part in Brentford’s rise to the Premier League, but his first-team involvement has declined more recently, with only eight appearances in all competitions last season. He was also in the final year of his contract at the West London club.

Coventry described the transfer as another major addition to a busy summer window. The club has reportedly spent more than £100m and Pinnock is their 10th signing of the window, as well as their second defensive arrival after Aurele Amenda joined from Eintracht Frankfurt in July. Pinnock also reunites with former Brentford team-mate Frank Onyeka, who has also moved to Coventry this summer.
