Citizen’s Affordable Automatic Skin Diver Watch Gets a Stunning Revamp - Gear Patrol

What the report says
Gear Patrol reports that Citizen is expanding its Tsuyosa Shore line with a black-and-gilt limited edition, adding a smoky textured dial and rose gold-tone accents to the brand’s affordable automatic sports watch. The model is slated to be available through Citizen in early August at $462, keeping it below the $500 mark highlighted by the publication.
According to Gear Patrol, the Tsuyosa Shore was introduced in early 2026 as a more water-oriented offshoot of Citizen’s Tsuyosa collection, which debuted in 2022. The Shore version uses a 40mm stainless steel case, a unidirectional bezel, a more prominent handset and 100 meters of water resistance. The new version pairs a black aluminum bezel insert with a rose gold-tone 60-minute scale, plus matching hands, indices and dial printing.
The watch runs on Citizen’s Caliber 8210 automatic movement, with time-and-date functionality, a 3 o’clock date window, a sapphire crystal with magnifier and a stated 42-hour power reserve. Gear Patrol notes that the textured dial fades from charcoal gray toward black and is intended to improve contrast, while the hands and markers include blue-glowing lume.
The release matters in the crowded affordable automatic watch segment, where Citizen competes with many independent brands that have long used Miyota movements made by Citizen’s movement arm. Gear Patrol characterizes the Tsuyosa Shore as closer to a 1960s-style “skin diver” or aquatic sports watch than a full dive watch, citing its 100-meter water resistance rather than a 200-meter dive-watch rating.
