Chris Evans asks Chameleone to move concert date

What the report says
Ugandan musicians Jose Chameleone and Chris Evans Kaweesi are set for a concert date clash on December 4, with Evans urging the organisers of Chameleone’s event to reconsider the timing. According to Sqoop Uganda, Chameleone is booked to perform at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala, while Evans has scheduled his own concert for the same night at Front Page Hotel in Namasuba.
Evans’ appeal is aimed at Biggie Events, the team behind Chameleone’s show, and is intended to reduce direct competition for the same audience during the busy festive season. The overlap could divide concertgoers between two events on the same night, particularly since both artistes draw from Uganda’s popular live music scene.
Sqoop Uganda reported that Biggie Events does not appear willing to shift the date. The organiser said Chameleone’s concert has been publicised long in advance and should remain unchanged. She also indicated that the team does not believe it is responsible for moving the event to accommodate another show, while expressing hope that both concerts can still succeed.
For fans, the clash leaves two major entertainment options on the calendar at once. The situation also reflects a familiar pattern in Uganda’s music industry, where prominent concerts are often scheduled close together, forcing audiences to choose between competing events.
