According to the report, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt described the renderings as an early look at the team’s future home and said the project is intended to improve the experience for fans while respecting the franchise’s history. Hunt said some details are still being completed, but the team expects the stadium to seat 70,000 people, preserve a major tailgating culture and be designed with acoustics in mind. Moving into an enclosed stadium would change the environment for regular-season and playoff games in December and January, while also potentially expanding the venue’s year-round event uses.
