Chelsea have agreed a £47.1m deal to sign Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, according to BBC Sport Football. The 22-year-old is expected to have a medical after Chelsea complete the sale of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City in a deal reported to match the £125m British transfer record.

The move comes after Chelsea had initially been reluctant to meet Monaco’s valuation. BBC Sport says the French club later softened its stance, with renewed uncertainty around Folarin Balogun’s proposed move to Everton helping create an opening. Chelsea had also looked at other midfield options, including Roma’s Manu Kone, but chose to act once Camara became available at a lower price.
