Chase Field, Chandler mall among new measles exposure sites in Maricopa County - AZ Family

AZFamily reports that Maricopa County health officials have identified several new possible measles exposure locations tied to a person who attended a Fuerza Regida concert at Chase Field in Phoenix and later visited sites in Chandler and Phoenix. The person, described as not being a Maricopa County resident, may have exposed others during visits on July 12 and July 13.

According to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health, the listed sites and times include The Taco Spot on North 54th Street in Chandler from 2:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on July 12; Sonesta Select Hotel on North 54th Street in Chandler on July 12 and July 13; Chase Field from 7 p.m. to midnight on July 12; IHOP on East Ray Road in Phoenix from midnight to 3:30 a.m. on July 13; bb.q Chicken at Chandler Boulevard in Chandler from 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on July 13; and Chandler Fashion Center from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on July 13.

Officials advised anyone who was at those locations to monitor for symptoms through Aug. 3 and review their vaccination status. AZFamily reported that Maricopa County has had 25 confirmed measles cases in 2026, compared with what officials described as roughly one case per year over the past three decades.

Measles is a highly contagious virus that can cause fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes and a rash that typically starts near the hairline before spreading. County officials emphasized that the illness is preventable with a two-dose vaccine and said unvaccinated people face a high risk of infection after exposure.
