Njala’s message, as quoted by Watchdog Uganda, thanked Next Media leadership and the wider NBS team while welcoming Mwanguhya back to the program. The report says promotional material circulating with Njala’s post showed Mwanguhya as the incoming host, indicating the change would take effect immediately.

The Frontline airs weekly on Thursday nights and is widely regarded as one of Uganda’s better-known current affairs platforms. According to the article, Mwanguhya previously took over the show in September 2021 after Joseph Sabiti left. He later stepped aside to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2026 general elections, which led to Njala taking over moderation duties on an interim basis.
