UEFA has confirmed the host cities for two upcoming Champions League finals, with Munich’s Allianz Arena set for 2028 and Barcelona’s Camp Nou for 2029, according to Al Jazeera’s report based on Reuters. The announcement was made on Tuesday and adds to a run of already planned showpiece matches in European football, including Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano, which is scheduled to stage the 2026-27 final.

The Allianz Arena, home to Bayern Munich, will host the men’s final for a third time. The stadium previously saw Chelsea beat Bayern on penalties in 2012 and Paris Saint-Germain win their first title there in 2025. Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen welcomed the decision, saying it reflects Munich’s appeal and organisational standards. The stadium is already match-ready, making it a relatively straightforward choice for UEFA.

Barcelona’s Camp Nou will stage the 2029 final, also for the third time. The venue last hosted the competition’s final in 1999, when Manchester United beat Bayern Munich with two late goals. Barcelona president Joan Laporta called UEFA’s decision a major vote of confidence in the club’s redevelopment project, which has been underway since 2023. The timing is notable because Spain will co-host the 2030 men’s World Cup the following year.

Al Jazeera also reported the Women’s Champions League final venues for 2028 and 2029: Lyon-Decines and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. The Welsh Football Association said the Cardiff match could help support the growth of women’s and girls’ football in Wales.
