What the report says

The Times of India reported that the Chhattisgarh Staff Selection Board, also known as CGSSB or Vyapam, has opened online applications for Assistant Teacher recruitment in the state. The drive covers 2,294 posts under the Directorate of Public Instruction, split between 795 E-Cadre vacancies and 1,499 T-Cadre vacancies. The notification was released on July 24, 2026, and applications are being accepted through the official portal, vyapamcg.cgstate.gov.in, until August 21, 2026, at 5 p.m.

According to the report, applicants for both cadres need Class 12 with at least 50% marks, along with a two-year D.El.Ed, four-year B.El.Ed or D.Ed in Special Education, and a qualifying CG TET or CTET credential. Candidates must be 21 to 35 years old as of January 1, 2026, with age relaxations available under government rules. Selected candidates will be appointed in government schools in Chhattisgarh at Pay Matrix Level-06.

The recruitment schedule listed by TOI includes an application correction window from August 22 to August 24, 2026. Admit cards are scheduled for release on October 5, and the written examination, identified as LSAT26, is set for October 11 from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The selection process includes a 100-mark written test, followed by document verification and a medical examination.

The application fee is Rs 350 for General category candidates, Rs 250 for OBC applicants, and Rs 200 for SC, ST and PwD candidates, payable online. TOI said local Chhattisgarh residents who sit for the written exam will receive a fee refund under state government provisions. Applicants were advised to check eligibility, reservation category and district requirements before applying.
