Casemiro makes Inter Miami debut despite MLS investigation into transfer

Al Jazeera, citing Reuters and The Associated Press, reported that Brazilian midfielder Casemiro made his Major League Soccer debut for Inter Miami on Saturday, July 25, 2026, in Montreal, Canada, even as the league continues to examine the circumstances of his move. Casemiro, formerly of Manchester United, played the entire match as Miami beat Montreal 1-0.

The report said MLS announced last week that it was reviewing a tampering allegation involving Inter Miami after Casemiro’s arrival. The league has also said it will not disclose details of a settlement between Miami and LA Galaxy over the player’s discovery rights until the investigation is complete.
