Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 announces open beta for Nintendo Switch 2 - Nintendo Everything

Nintendo Everything reported that Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will hold an open beta on Nintendo Switch 2 from the weekend of August 28 through September 1. The site said this will be the second beta period for the game, following an earlier test the previous weekend that is limited to players who pre-ordered on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Switch 2 not included in that first phase.

According to details cited in the report, the beta will feature multiple multiplayer maps and modes, a selection of new Operators, and up to 19 weapons to unlock. The test is expected to include smaller 3v3 matches as well as larger tactical battles involving vehicles such as tanks. Modes mentioned include Search & Destroy, the new Kill Block mode and a Training Mobility Course, alongside loadout building, progression and unlockable equipment such as perks, field upgrades and killstreaks.

Nintendo Everything also reported that reservations for the Switch 2 version are set to begin August 26, with more platform-specific information planned closer to that date. Activision’s Call of Duty: Next presentation is scheduled for August 21 and is expected to show live gameplay, multiplayer details, developer commentary and additional reveals before the beta.
