The New York Post reported that Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark will appear on the deluxe edition cover of NBA 2K27, a milestone the outlet said makes her the first WNBA player to receive her own global cover for the NBA version of the basketball video game. The cover reveal places one of the WNBA’s most prominent young stars in a mainstream slot for a franchise long associated primarily with NBA athletes.

The Post said the announcement also drew criticism online because some fans felt the illustrated version of Clark did not look like her. Sports business journalist Darren Rovell was among those who questioned the likeness on X, and other users similarly suggested the cover image appeared off. According to the Post, 2K had not responded to the online reaction at the time of the report.

Clark is part of a broader NBA 2K27 cover lineup that includes San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama on the standard edition and former Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose on an “ultra” version. The Post noted that 2K had not announced a separate WNBA edition, prompting speculation among fans that Clark’s deluxe-edition placement may replace that format this year.
