Phoronix reported that CachyOS delivered the strongest showing in its operating-system benchmark comparison on a BOSGAME VTA-439 mini PC powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, with the publication’s headline characterizing the Arch-based Linux distribution as outperforming Windows 11 and holding a small edge over Ubuntu and Fedora. The article, written by Michael Larabel and published July 28, 2026, introduces a multi-page test of Windows and Linux performance on AMD’s newer “Gorgon Point” mobile platform.

The system tested was a BOSGAME VTA-439 mini PC with a 12-core, 24-thread Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 and integrated Radeon 890M RDNA 3.5 graphics. Phoronix said the review sample included 32GB of DDR5-5600 memory in a dual-16GB configuration and a 1TB NVMe SSD. Phoronix then performed clean installations of Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, Fedora Workstation 44 and CachyOS during mid-July testing. The publication said each operating system was evaluated in its default, out-of-the-box configuration to compare performance on the same hardware platform.
