The New York Post reported that Brianna Turner, a former Indiana Fever forward who now plays for the Las Vegas Aces, alleged on X that Fever players were “encouraged” not to speak publicly after a male staff member was fired last season over “sexual harassment.” Turner made the claim in a longer social media thread responding to renewed debate over transgender athletes in women’s sports.

According to the Post, Turner did not provide further details about the incident. The Fever told the outlet that protecting players and staff and maintaining a respectful workplace are priorities, and said the organization takes concerns seriously, investigates and acts when appropriate. The team also said it does not discuss personnel matters involving former employees because of trust and safety in that process.

The Post cited an unnamed source close to the situation who characterized the matter differently, saying it involved a low-level staffer making a vulgar, disrespectful comment during a private conversation with another staff member. The source told the Post that players did not hear the remark, that it was reported immediately, that the employee was dismissed the same day, and that players were not told they could not discuss it. The source also said local authorities were not contacted.

The allegation surfaced as Fever guard Sophie Cunningham faced attention for comments in an ESPN profile about protecting girls in locker rooms and opposing competition against “biological men.” The Fever separately said its players speak for themselves while the organization aims to welcome fans from all backgrounds. Turner, without naming Cunningham, argued that transgender athletes are being disproportionately targeted and said she has seen no issues from the WNBA’s one out transgender player.
