What the report says

Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of Spanish right-back Juanlu Sanchez from Sevilla in a deal that could rise to £11.1m, according to BBC Sport. The 22-year-old joins the Premier League club after establishing himself in Sevilla’s senior side and passing 100 first-team appearances, with experience in domestic football, European competition and the Champions League.

BBC Sport reports that the transfer is made up of an initial £9.4m fee plus up to £1.7m in add-ons. Juanlu, who helped Spain win Olympic gold in 2024, said he was pleased to complete the move for himself and his family. Bournemouth’s president of football operations, Tiago Pinto, said the club values the player’s experience for his age and expects him to add depth and energy to Marco Rose’s squad.

The signing is Bournemouth’s third of the summer, following moves for Antonio Silva from Benfica and Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche. The club are preparing for a season in which they will play in the Europa League for the first time, so strengthening the squad remains a priority. BBC Sport also noted Bournemouth are still looking for a backup goalkeeper and that striker Enes Unal could leave, while several other players are understood to be unavailable for transfer.
