Bloom repeats faith in title ambition for Hearts

What the report says
Tony Bloom has reiterated his belief that Hearts can challenge for the Scottish Premiership title, saying he would be “really disappointed” if the Edinburgh club have not won it by 2035. The comments, reported by BBC Sport Football, follow Bloom’s purchase of a 29% stake in Hearts in June 2025, when he said he wanted to help break the long-running domination of Celtic and Rangers.
Bloom’s latest remarks come after Hearts finished just two points behind Celtic last season, a campaign in which they led the league for much of the year before a final-day loss at Celtic Park ended their title push. He described that finish as very disappointing for the club and said Hearts must accept what happened while moving on quickly.
The article says Hearts have undergone major changes since then. Head coach Derek McInnes left, along with captain Lawrence Shankland and midfielder Cammy Devlin, and Wouter Vrancken is now in charge. Despite the turnover, Hearts remain unbeaten at home in the league for more than a year and are third in the table behind Celtic and Rangers.
Bloom said the club have started the season reasonably well and should give supporters optimism. More broadly, his comments underline the ambition around Hearts as they try to turn recent progress, investment and recruitment into a sustained challenge at the top of Scottish football.
