Bishop Stuart University Approves Special Supplementary Exams for 2026 Graduands with Retakes

Bishop Stuart University has approved a special supplementary examination sitting for final-year students who are due to graduate in October 2026 and have up to two retake papers. The decision, reported by Nile Post, was made by the University Senate at a meeting on September 1, 2026, as the institution seeks to help eligible students clear outstanding academic requirements before its 22nd graduation ceremony on October 23, 2026.

According to the university’s notice, the arrangement is limited to students with specific academic and disciplinary conditions. Undergraduate candidates must have scored between 30% and 49% in the affected course or courses, while graduate students must have scored between 40% and 59%. Students must also have no unresolved disciplinary or examination-malpractice cases, and their retakes must be confirmed by the relevant faculty.

The special exams are set to begin on September 16, 2026, with registration and verification required by September 12. Students are expected to work through their faculties, departments and deans before being cleared by the Academic Registrar’s office. Nile Post reported that successful candidates will then receive examination cards.

The university said the option is a one-time measure aimed at helping qualified graduands finish in time for the October ceremony. A fee of Shs250,000 per paper applies, and late registrations will not be accepted.
