Bed bugs outbreak hits Busia’s homes, residents seek help

Busia district health official Dick Maena said the increase in bedbugs was connected to poor personal hygiene and sanitation, and said the district plans community awareness efforts. Busia town deputy mayor Juma Odero apologized for garbage challenges and urged households to improve hygiene while municipal authorities work on waste management measures. The issue matters because it highlights both a public health nuisance and broader sanitation problems affecting the town.
