What the report says

Ugandan musician Moses Ssali, better known as Bebe Cool, is set to join fashion entrepreneur Santa Anzo for an online discussion on X about the role of the creative economy in Uganda’s growth. According to Nile Post, the conversation is scheduled for Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is being held as part of pre-event activities for Uganda International Fashion Week (UIFW) 2026.

The X Space will be hosted by journalist Canary Mugume and is expected to bring together creatives, business people, policymakers and the public. The discussion will focus on how music, fashion and other creative sectors can generate jobs, support business growth and contribute to wider economic transformation. Bebe Cool is expected to draw on his experience building a long-running music brand, while Santa Anzo, who founded ARAPAPA Fashion House and UIFW, aims to frame creativity as both an artistic and business opportunity.

Nile Post reports that the session will also touch on the creative industry’s potential to support entrepreneurship, exports, tourism and Uganda’s international image. The event comes ahead of the week-long Uganda International Fashion Week planned for August 31 to September 5, 2026, under the theme “Fashion for Impact.”

The broader initiative is presented as part of efforts to turn creative talent into practical skills and income-generating opportunities, especially for young people and other underrepresented groups.
