Ugandan rapper Da Agent has drawn attention after saying he would not want to enter a music battle with another artist because, in his view, it would be unfair. In comments made on KFM’s K-Drive, as reported by Sqoop Uganda, he argued that he can perform what other artists do, while claiming others cannot match his own style and skills.

Da Agent framed the issue as one of versatility and individuality rather than simply lyrical ability. He said he believes he has an edge over other performers and suggested that his range would make it difficult for anyone to compete with him in a head-to-head contest. The remarks are likely to spark debate in Uganda’s music industry, where battles and comparisons often form part of public discussion around rap and performance.

Sqoop Uganda also reported that Da Agent said he does not draw inspiration from local names, despite citing prominent Ugandan figures such as GNL Zamba, Gravity Omutujju and Feffe Bussi as part of the scene. Instead, he named Eminem and Busta Rhymes as his inspirations. The comments highlight the confidence and competitive tone that often shape conversations in Ugandan hip-hop, while also showing how artists use interviews to position themselves within the wider music landscape.
