What the report says

At Bata Secondary School in Bata Town Council, Dokolo District, 222 candidates have been urged to stay disciplined and focused as they prepare for the 2026 final examinations. According to Dokolo Post, the group includes 170 Senior Four students and 52 Senior Six students, and the guidance came during a dedication prayer held at the school on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

The service was led by Rev. Vincent Okullo of Bata Church of Uganda, who encouraged students to keep working hard, avoid distractions and trust the preparation they have already completed. He also asked parents not to add unnecessary pressure during the examination period, saying home-related stress could affect concentration. The message was echoed by school leaders, including Headteacher Mr. Ogwal Denis, who said teachers had covered the syllabus and were confident in the candidates’ readiness.

The Parents and Teachers Association chairperson, Edato Charles, encouraged families to keep supporting education and to pay school fees on time. School Board chairperson Caroline Abeja and class teacher representative Mr. Augustine Oyuru also called on the candidates to remain focused and continue revising. Student representatives Rebecca Apio and Odit Emmanuel thanked parents and teachers for their support and said they were determined to perform well. The school, which has an enrolment of 798 students, used the prayer event to reinforce academic discipline ahead of a key examination year.
