At least one Lebanese person, two Israeli soldiers killed in south Lebanon

What the report says
Al Jazeera reported that violence in southern Lebanon intensified on Wednesday, with an Israeli air strike killing one person in the town of Tibnin and wounding 12 others, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry. The strike hit the roof of a cemetery prayer hall, highlighting that hostilities remain active even as diplomatic efforts continue.
The same day, two Israeli soldiers were killed, another was critically wounded and others injured when an improvised explosive device detonated inside a booby-trapped building in the village of Majdal Selem, according to the report. Al Jazeera said the village remains under Israeli military occupation, and its correspondent described the incident as notable because the area is close to al-Mansouri and, as reported, has no Hezbollah presence.
In response, the Israeli military said it was carrying out “precise strikes” across southern Lebanon, framing the operation as retaliation for what it called a ceasefire violation by Hezbollah. The army also renewed forced displacement orders for residents of al-Mansouri. Al Jazeera said the situation remains volatile despite a recent easing of fighting, with intermittent air raids still affecting front-line villages.
The developments came as Lebanese and Israeli officials continued talks in Rome aimed at implementing a ceasefire framework, including a phased Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon, Hezbollah disarmament, and Lebanese army deployment in pilot zones. Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem has rejected direct talks and criticized the negotiations.
