Arsenal sign Greek forward Tzolis for £34m

BBC Sport reported that Arsenal have completed the signing of Greece international Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge in a deal worth £34m. The 24-year-old forward has agreed what Arsenal described as a long-term contract, adding another attacking option to the Premier League champions’ squad after Leandro Trossard’s move to Besiktas earlier this month.

According to the BBC, Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta described Tzolis as a versatile attacker who is naturally suited to the left side but can play across the forward line. Berta highlighted his finishing with either foot, technical quality in crowded areas and recent attacking output, saying the club believes he can improve the squad’s technical level while adding energy and mentality.

Tzolis arrives after a productive spell at Club Brugge, where BBC Sport said he recorded 43 goals and 45 assists in 108 matches. He began his senior career at PAOK and has previous experience in English football with Norwich City, making 30 appearances between 2021 and 2024 and scoring three times. During that period, he also had loan spells at Twente and Fortuna Dusseldorf before moving to Belgium.

The transfer is notable because Arsenal are adding depth and flexibility in wide attacking areas as they prepare for the demands of domestic and European competition. Tzolis told the club he had a positive conversation with manager Mikel Arteta and characterised himself as a direct winger focused on scoring, creating chances and contributing defensively.
