Apple and Nvidia vie for the position as the world's biggest company: Which is the better buy now? - Fox Business

What the report says
Motley Fool reported that Apple and Nvidia are competing for the title of the world’s most valuable company, as investor enthusiasm around artificial intelligence continues to reshape the top of the U.S. stock market. According to the article, Nvidia has held the leading valuation position since roughly a year earlier, after becoming the first company to reach $4 trillion in market value, but Apple briefly moved ahead during trading on July 17 before Nvidia finished the day back on top at about $4.9 trillion, compared with Apple’s $4.89 trillion.
The analysis framed Nvidia’s case around its dominant role in AI computing. Motley Fool said Nvidia shares had risen more than 300% over three years, supported by demand for its graphics processing units and related AI products. The company’s recent quarterly revenue was reported at more than $81 billion, up 85%, with gross margin remaining above 70%. The article also noted Nvidia’s plan to release its first stand-alone central processing unit, describing it as an expansion into a large new market.
For Apple, Motley Fool emphasized a different investment profile: a powerful consumer brand, iPhone loyalty and recurring services revenue from a base of more than 2.5 billion active devices. The article said Apple’s stock had climbed about 70% over three years, less than Nvidia’s, and that Apple was later than some peers in rolling out AI features.
Motley Fool’s conclusion favored Nvidia as the better buy at current valuation levels, while noting that more cautious investors may prefer Apple because it is less directly tied to AI-market volatility.
