Sqoop Uganda reported that the couple’s path to marriage included a family introduction in January at Beryl’s parents’ home in Masheeruka, Sheema District. That gathering involved relatives and elders, with bride-price negotiations completed and the family confirming that Ekoot had met the customary requirement. The outlet also noted that Beryl designed outfits for herself and members of her entourage, using details inspired by Ankole heritage.

Among the moments highlighted was Ekoot’s earlier gift of a pink Range Rover, which the report said drew attention during their engagement.
