Angel Liz Murungi has been named Miss Uganda West 2026 after winning the Western Region leg of the Miss Uganda 2026 regional tour, according to Sqoop Uganda. The finale took place at Motiv in Bugolobi and drew contestants, supporters, content creators and entertainment figures for a weekend event that combined pageantry with music and community engagement.
Sqoop Uganda reported that Maria Joyce Arinda finished as first runner-up and Shivan Owomugisha placed second runner-up. The program opened on Friday with a social gathering for contestants, then continued on Sunday with runway performances before a lively crowd. The event also featured performances by Kateleya and Kandle, along with other emerging artistes.
Beyond the competition, the article emphasized the role of friendships, family and online supporters in the contestants’ journeys. It noted that Arinda received visible backing from content creators and influencers who had followed and promoted her progress. A brief audience moment involving creator Solomon Kimera added a lighter tone to the evening.
V&A Sherry brand manager Roy Ronald Tumwizere said the partnership was intended to celebrate women and create a platform for recognition. With the Western Region winner now confirmed, the tour moves on to the Central Region, the final stop before the national Miss Uganda 2026 competition. The Western Region result positions Murungi as the area’s representative in the next stage of the pageant.
