American Airlines to build 37,000-square-foot Admirals Club at DFW Airport - Dallas News

The Dallas Morning News reported that American Airlines plans to add major premium-travel facilities at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, including what the carrier says will be the largest Admirals Club in its system. The planned lounge will cover 37,000 square feet in Terminal C, where DFW recently opened the first stage of a $3 billion expansion. The Fort Worth-based airline announced the investments Monday, according to the report.

The Terminal C Admirals Club is expected to offer multiple seating areas, space for work and relaxation, expanded food options and a premium drinks program. The Morning News noted that the new club would be more than twice the size of Chase’s recently opened 18,000-square-foot lounge in Terminal D. American already operates five Admirals Clubs and one Flagship Lounge at DFW, where it accounts for more than 80% of flight operations.

American also plans to introduce Provisions by Admirals Club, a grab-and-go lounge concept, in the under-construction Terminal F. The airline said the location will be part of the terminal’s first phase and will offer fresh food, premium beverages and travel essentials for passengers moving quickly through the airport. American has committed $4 billion to build out Terminal F, a 31-gate terminal that will be used exclusively by the airline.

In addition, American said it will bring Flagship check-in to DFW later this year near Terminal D’s D30 security checkpoint. The service is intended to provide eligible premium customers a more private check-in area and staff assistance before departure. The moves underscore American’s continued investment in DFW as its central hub and reflect broader competition among airlines and airport operators to improve high-end passenger amenities.
