Phoronix reports that AMD used its Advancing AI 2026 event to outline future EPYC server CPU plans beyond the newly announced EPYC 9006 “Venice” processors. According to the report, AMD Chief Executive Lisa Su closed her keynote by confirming details for the Zen 7-based EPYC line, code-named “Florence,” and by saying that a later Zen 8 EPYC generation, “Ravenna,” is also under development.

The publication says Florence is set to use a next-generation process node and will include ACE AI compute extensions, along with updated memory support involving newer MRDIMM and LPDDR technologies. Phoronix links ACE to the x86 Advisory Working Group formed by AMD and Intel, noting that AMD engineers have already been preparing related GCC compiler patches. The report frames the confirmation as significant for AI workloads on EPYC systems, with ACE described as a successor in role to Intel’s Advanced Matrix Extensions.

Phoronix also reports that AMD discussed future rack-scale AI platform plans. The next Helios platform is identified as Helios 500, combining EPYC “Verano,” Instinct MI500-series accelerators and Pensando “Como” and “Monza” networking. A later Helios 600 platform is described as pairing EPYC “Ferrara” with Instinct MI600-series accelerators and Pensando “Palma” and “Levanza” networking.

The disclosures matter because server CPU roadmaps influence data center buying cycles, compiler support and AI infrastructure planning. While Phoronix characterizes some of the Florence details as expected, the report says AMD has now publicly tied Zen 7 EPYC to ACE and next-generation memory technologies.
