Alien Skin Faces Eviction Notice Over Shs36m Rent, Water Bill Arrears

What the report says
Singer Patrick Mulwana, known as Alien Skin, has been given a 30-day eviction notice over alleged rent and water bill arrears at rented premises in Sempa Zone, Makindye Division, Kampala. According to Watchdog Uganda, landlord Isaac Katureebe says the disputed debt totals Shs36 million.
The notice, dated October 26, 2026, directs Mulwana to clear the claimed arrears, leave the property and remove his belongings by November 26, 2026. The landlord alleges that Shs27 million is owed in rent and Shs9 million in water bills. He also claims the tenancy agreement required monthly rent of Shs2.25 million and that payments have not been made for about 12 months.
Watchdog Uganda reported that the landlord says earlier notices were issued without resolving the matter. The notice warns that non-compliance could lead to legal action, including court proceedings and enforcement through local authorities. Copies were reportedly shared with the Community Liaison Officer at Katwe Police Station and the Sempa Zone chairperson.
The publication noted that the arrears claims have not been independently verified, and it was not clear whether Mulwana disputes the allegations or whether any mediation or court process has begun. More broadly, the case highlights how written tenancy agreements and formal legal procedures can shape landlord-tenant disputes in Uganda, especially when public figures are involved.
