Agenda 2063: Reach A Hand Africa convenes Pan-African youth summit

Reach A Hand Africa and Third Sector Builders have opened the fourth B!LL!Now Now (BNN) Youth Summit in Kampala, Uganda, bringing together young people, policymakers, civil society groups, development partners, innovators and private sector leaders. The event runs from 5 to 7 August 2026 at Reach A Hand Africa’s headquarters in Lungujja Avenue and forms part of the organisation’s activities around International Youth Day 2026.

According to The Independent Uganda, the summit has drawn more than 1,000 participants from over eight African countries, including Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, Burundi, Tanzania, Eritrea, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Discussions are focused on six areas tied to Agenda 2063: sexual and reproductive health, mental health, entrepreneurship and trade, education and skills, climate and the green economy, and responsible technology and artificial intelligence.

Reach A Hand Africa founder and chief executive Humphrey Nabimanya said the meeting is intended to move beyond symbolic youth engagement and produce practical resolutions for governments and other stakeholders. Speakers at the summit also highlighted the need for youth-friendly policies, stronger accountability, financing, skills development and better support for young people affected by conflict, unemployment and digital change.

The summit is expected to feed into policy outputs such as the BNN Champions Network, a Policy Playbook, Country Briefs and the BNN Insights Room. More broadly, the gathering reflects a wider African debate about how to turn youth participation into concrete action on development priorities, while this framing is a general background point rather than a separate claim by the publisher.
