Africa: Yango Group Makes The Case For African-Led Digital Infrastructure At Moonshot 2026

What the report says
Yango Group used a panel at Moonshot by TechCabal 2026 in Lagos to argue that Africa’s digital economy needs infrastructure that is designed and built locally, rather than simply imported from other markets. Speaking at the event at the National Theatre in Lagos on 28–29 October, Adeniyi Adebayo, who is chief executive of RideTech and chief business officer at Yango Group, said scaling digital services depends on partnerships, better mapping and routing systems, local transport operations and financing tools that fit African markets.
According to the report published by InfoWire and distributed by AllAfrica, Adebayo said successful expansion requires more than translating a product for another language or market. He pointed to Yango’s experience in Côte d’Ivoire and across 15 African markets as evidence that companies must adapt to local consumer behavior, transport networks and levels of technological readiness. He also stressed collaboration with existing transport groups, describing them as partners in building services.
The discussion took place during a panel on commerce infrastructure, alongside leaders from Fez Delivery and MAX. Yango also backed the conference’s startup pitch competition, TC Battlefield 2026, and Adebayo served on the judging panel. The company’s message reflects a broader debate in African tech about how to finance and build the systems that support ride-hailing, delivery and other platform businesses.
