Africa: Wafu B Women's Champions League Qualifiers - Ampem Darkoa Shock Edo Queens As Usfa Cruise Into Semi-Finals

What the report says
Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Burkina Faso’s USFA secured the top spots in their respective groups at the WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers in Ouagadougou, according to AllAfrica’s report from the Confederation of African Football. On Sunday, Ampem Darkoa rallied from behind to defeat Nigeria’s Edo Queens 2-1 in Group B, while USFA closed Group A with a 5-0 win over ASKO de Kara at the 4th August Sports Stadium.
The results confirmed the semifinal matchups: USFA will play Edo Queens, and Ampem Darkoa will meet FC Dynamique. Ampem Darkoa’s comeback was especially significant because Edo Queens had taken an early lead and had won their first two matches. The Ghanaian side finished the group stage unbeaten, with three wins from three and only one goal conceded.
USFA also completed an unbeaten group phase and did so without conceding a goal. The hosts’ dominant victory featured multiple scorers, including Deborah Guira, Comfort Yeboah and captain Dielawalea Stephanie Sow. ASKO de Kara had only needed a draw to advance, but their heavy loss allowed FC Dynamique to move on as Group A runners-up despite a modest record.
The semifinals now set up a contrast between Edo Queens’ attacking output and USFA’s defensive record, while Ampem Darkoa enter their tie as the only team with a perfect group-stage mark. The competition’s next phase will decide which clubs move closer to regional qualification and a place in the continental tournament.
